Within the BlackBerry® Administration Service, administrators have the ability to import users, in bulk, to groups. This allows for a more streamlined and efficient form of account management within the BlackBerry Solution from an administrative standpoint. The steps outlines in this article enable administrators to import users in bulk by using input files created in CSV format.
To add users in bulk to a managed group by using an input file, perform the following steps:
- Create the input file
The input file is required to be in a CSV format, displaying the following information.

Example 1: .csv file within Microsoft® Excel:

User Id, Display Name, PIN, Email Address, Logon Name

782, Megan Ball, 1234AB56C , megan.ball@example.com
Note: The User Id is the BASUserId found in the BASUsers table, NOT the UserConfigId from the UserConfig table. The information can be found in the user properties when selecting Manage Users and on the User Information tab.
- Under BlackBerry Solution Management, expand Group and click Manage Groups.
- Select the group that you would like to add users to.
- Click Add users to group membership.
- Click Import users from a list.
- Click Browse.
- Navigate to the location of the CSV file, select the file, and click Open.
- Click Add to group membership.
- If the import to the group was successful, The group has been updated is displayed.
