"Java Error 1603" appears during BlackBerry Enterprise Server installation

When the BlackBerry Enterprise Server is installed, a Java Error 1603 error might appear, and the installation does not complete.

When the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Installer/Setup files are reviewed, the following information appears:

[PIPTOOL]: Installing JRE 1.6.0 update 15.
[PIPTOOL]: The exit code of the installation for JRE1.6.0 is [1603].
[PIPTOOL]: Applying Add-On to JRE 1.6.0_15.
[PIPTOOL]: Could not copy [E:\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0.1\tools\jce\local_policy.jar] to [C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.6.0_15\lib\security\local_policy.jar] with error number [3]
[PIPTOOL]: Could not copy [E:\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0.1\tools\jce\US_export_policy.jar] to [C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.6.0_15\lib\security\US_export_policy.jar] with error number [3]
[PIPTOOL]: Finished applying Add On to JRE 1.6.0_15.
[PIPTOOL]: JRE upgrade result code was 2 (failed).
[PIPTOOL]: Executing stop from .

NOTE: This will affect when installing any version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE). 


Updates are required for the root certificates for the server that is hosting the BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

Download and install the root certificates. The server must be restarted afterward.
