In all Microsoft SQL Server versions the database size can be trimmed.
Step 1 - Configure the database size registry key
Warning: The following procedure involves modifying the computer registry. This can cause substantial damage to the Windows® operating system. Document and back up the registry entries prior to implementing any changes.
The TargetSize registry key is the value of the maximum desired size of the BlackBerry Monitoring Service database.
Path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Monitoring Service\Database
Key:
TargetSize
Type:
DWORD
Value (in MB / example):
3200
Step 2 - Trim the database
1. In the command prompt navigate to the BlackBerry Monitoring Service tools directory:
X:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Monitoring Service\tools\
2. Type the following at the command prompt:
dcs_agent.exe trim
