An active chat window in Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 R2, communicating with a user using BlackBerry Enterprise Messenger, may see the following message:

<user> is active on a device that can't receive IM.

This may only occur if the BlackBerry smartphone user is logged into Microsoft Lync Server 2010 or Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 R2 from the BlackBerry Enterprise Messenger Client, and also logged in to the Microsoft Lync Server 2010 or Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 R2 desktop client with the workstation locked.

This issue has been resolved in BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0 SP4 MR3.
