BlackBerry smartphone will not turn on or charge. This can occur when allowing the battery to completely drain.

The following BlackBerry smartphones may be affected by this issue:

  • BlackBerry Bold 9900
  • BlackBerry Bold 9930
  • BlackBerry Torch 9810 
  • BlackBerry Torch 9850
  • BlackBerry Torch 9860
  • BlackBerry Curve 9370
  • BlackBerry Curve 9320

This is a previously reported issue that has been escalated internally to our development team for investigation.
CollapseWorkaround

Remove the battery from the BlackBerry smartphone and reinsert it. If the BlackBerry smartphone still fails to restart, then replace the battery with a battery having a charge greater than 10%.

When intending to storing the BlackBerry smartphone for a number of days without the ability to charge, consider removing the battery from the BlackBerry smartphone.
