How to add a search engine for BlackBerry 7

The default search engine in the browser is also the default search engine that your BlackBerry smartphone uses when you search the Internet using the search icon on the home screen.

To add as a search engine complete the following steps:

  1. Open the Browser application.
  2. Press the Menu key.
  3. Select Options.
  4. Select Manage Search Engines.
  5. Click on New Search Engine.
  6. Enter a name of the search engine.
  7. Type the following address:
    Google: http://www.google.com/m/search?q=%s
    Bing: http://m.bing.com/search?q=%s
    Yahoo: http://m.yahoo.com/search?q=%s
    Wikipedia: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/%s
    Dictionary.com: http://m.dictionary.com/definition/%s
  8. Press the Menu key.
  9. Select Save.

    Note: To use the new search engine as the default search engine highlight the new search engine, press Menu, and select Set As Default.
