BlackBerry Desktop software closes unexpectedly during synchronization of organizer data

During synchronization of organizer data it appears to go through the calender database and then the BlackBerry® Desktop Software will close unexpectedly without any specific error messages. The Windows® computer may also freeze up and lose all funtionality of the mouse and keyboard.

The organizer database on the BlackBerry® smartphone maybe corrupted
CollapseResolution
  1. Identify which organizer database is causing the BlackBerry Desktop Software to close unexpectedly by synchronizing each application separately until the issue recurs. For instructions, see KB03069.
  2. Back up the BlackBerry® smartphone following steps task 1 of KB03953
  3. Delete the affected database on the BlackBerry smartphone.

    Note: The following steps are for the BlackBerry® Desktop Software 6.1
    1. Click the Device menu from the BlackBerry Desktop Software home screen and select Delete data.
    2. Select selected data.
    3. Select the appropriate database that's causing the failure which was determined in step 1. 
    4. Click clear.
  4. Attempt to synchronize the organizer database that was originally failing.
  5. Perform a synchronization of all organizer data.
