- BlackBerry® smartphones
When the BlackBerry smartphone user is roaming on another carrier network, the smartphone is unable to send or receive messages.
Cause 1:
Carrier roaming may be set to Prompt in the Mobile Network settings, and the prompt to allow roaming on the mobile network may have been ignored.
Cause 2:
The Carrier network the BlackBerry Smartphone has connected to while roaming may not allow a BlackBerry data connection.
Cause 3:
The data plan being used may not allow BlackBerry data usage while roaming.
Resolution 1:
- From the home screen select Options, choose Manage Connections, Network and Connections, then Mobile Network
- Under Data Services from the drop down menu, change from Prompt to On.
Resolution 2:
Attempt to connect to another mobile network manually.
Resolution 3:
If the first two resolutions are not succesful, it may be that the service plan may not allow data while roaming. Contact the appropriate service provider for the BlackBerry smartphone.
