"Invalid Yahoo! ID or Password" error message received when logging into Yahoo Messenger

When logging into Yahoo!® Messenger for BlackBerry® smartphones the following login error is received:

"Invalid Yahoo! ID or Password"


The Yahoo!® ID or password was entered incorrectly.

If the Yahoo! user name and password are entered correctly, perform the steps listed in the  Workaround section.

Confirm that the Yahoo! credentials being used to login to Yahoo! Messenger for BlackBerry smartphones is being typed or spelled correctly.
  1. Uncheck the option Remember my ID and Password
  2. Retype the Yahoo! ID and password (Do not place a check next the option Remember my ID and Password)
  3. Click Sign In
    ** Note: 2–3 sign in attempts may need to be done in order to process any previously queued tries
  4. Once logged in successfully, the Remember my ID and Password option can then be used again
