An IBM® Lotus® Domino® Administrator may notice the following error on the console of the IBM Lotus Traveler Server:

Lotus Traveler: SEVERE CN=Elliot Fung/O=XYZ Unexpected tag in Collection: Options

This error may appear on the IBM Lotus Traveler Server when a Microsoft® ActiveSync® client attempts to send tag options in the Microsoft ActiveSync request to the Microsoft ActiveSync server. Tag Options are part of the Microsoft ActiveSync version 14.0 and later. IBM Lotus Traveler currently supports Microsoft ActiveSync 12.1 and lower. As a result of this the IBM Lotus Traveler cannot interpret the tag options and logs the error:

While this error does report as SEVERE in the IBM Lotus Traveler Log, there is no impact of this issue in the context of the data that is synchronized between the Microsoft ActiveSync client and Microsoft ActiveSync server.
