What variables are available in the Activation Message template in BlackBerry Device Service

In the BlackBerry Administration Service console for BlackBerry Device Service, the administrator is able to customize the Activation Message that is sent to users when an Enterprise Activation password has been assigned. This section can be found in the Devices menu under Wireless activations -> Device activation settings. To be able to view the First activation message and Second activation message sections, the Allow activation information to be emailed: selection must be set to Yes.

The available variables that can be used (must be within percent signs %%) are as follows :

%ServerAddress%
%UserName%
%Password%
%ExpiryHours%

The default text for the First activation message is :

%DisplayName%

<CompanyName> has activated your BlackBerry device for BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10.

To activate your BlackBerry PlayBook tablet so that you can access your work apps, email, Wi-Fi and VPN, complete the following steps:

  1. On your BlackBerry PlayBook tablet, navigate to Settings.
  2. Tap Accounts.
  3. Select Add New Account.
  4. Select Email, Calendar and Contacts.
  5. Select Advanced Setup.
  6. Select Work Account.
  7. In the User ID field, type your username.
  8. In the Password field, type your activation password. The activation password might be emailed to you separately.
  9. If required, in the Server Address field, type the server address.
  10. Click Save.
  11. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete activation.


To activate your BlackBerry 10 smartphone so that you can access your work apps, email, Wi-Fi and VPN, complete the following steps:

  1. On your BlackBerry 10 smartphone, navigate to Settings.
  2. Tap Accounts.
  3. Select Add New Account.
  4. Select Email, Calendar and Contacts.
  5. Type your email address.
  6. In the Password field, type your activation password. The activation password might be emailed to you separately.
  7. Click Continue.
  8. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete activation.

The default text for the Second activation message is:
