The following information is intended for retail support representatives who are assisting customers with troubleshooting.

About third-party applications

Customers should only install third-party applications from trusted sources, such as BlackBerry World storefront. Other third-party applications might cause issues on a BlackBerry smartphone.

Refer the customer to their IT administrator or the vendor of the third-party application for the following cases:

  • If the IT administrator at the customer’s organization loads third-party applications, or if the IT administrator disables third-party application downloads or their operation on the BlackBerry smartphone using an IT policy.

  • If the third-party application is not functioning as designed, most application vendors provide a Contact Support button at the bottom of the application details screen in BlackBerry App World.

Customers can download and install applications using BlackBerry World. If the customer has questions about how to use BlackBerry World, refer them to www.blackberry.com/appworld or mobile.blackberry.com to access the BlackBerry World help and available reference guides.
