Administrator is unable to edit or administer users in the BlackBerry Administration Console

When attempting to edit a user in the BlackBerry Administration Console, the logged in Administrator account is not presented with options to carry this out. Though the users are listed in the console, there are no options to edit the settings or properties for any user.

When attempting to log in to the console with a non-BAS-Authenticated Security Admin account, the login attempt fails and the following error is displayed:

The capabilities associated with your account have changed.

While this issue occurs, the BlackBerry Administration Service will log entries that include the terms:

This issue has been found to be directly related to one or both of the files being truncated or missing. These files are located in the following directory paths:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10\BAS\server\default\conf\
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10\BAS\server\ncc\conf\
This is a previously reported issue that is being investigated by our development team. No resolution time frame is currently available.
Contact BlackBerry Technical Support Services with a view to verifying and replacing the affected files.
