CollapseOverview

When Forwarding an email with an email message as an attachment from an email account using Microsoft Activesync, the email attachment when it reaches the recipient has a file extension that has doubled. Also the attachment cannot be opened and the size may be between 0 to 23 bytes.

Example:

  • message.eml.eml
CollapseCause
This symptom can be caused if a Nginx server is being used as a reverse proxy in front of the Microsoft Activesync services.
CollapseResolution

Update the smartphone to BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.3.1 or later.

To confirm and update to the latest version of software available for your smartphone see KB34364. For availability, check with your wireless service provider.

CollapseWorkaround
If possible, connect directly to the Microsoft Activesync services rather than connecting to the reverse proxy.
