HTML email messages can be viewed on the BlackBerry smartphone when running BlackBerry Enterprise Server 4.1.6 and BlackBerry Device Software 4.5 and later with the Rich Content option turned on. By default, images do not load for security reasons, but users can select Get Images from the Options menu.
However, when Get Images is selected, the images still do not display properly.
Images fail to load because BlackBerry® Mobile Data System (BlackBerry MDS) Services on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server could not complete the request.
The following may be causes of this issue:
- BlackBerry MDS Services is not running
- Network or proxy issues
- Web site that the images are coming from may be blocked by BlackBerry MDS
These issues should be looked at as BlackBerry MDS browsing issues.
Test to make sure that the web site the images are hosted on can be browsed to on the BlackBerry smartphone.
