How to use labels using the integrated Google Mail account on a BlackBerry smartphone

Within Google Mail, labels allow a user to be better organized by flagging a message, or groups of messages with unique labels. For more information about labels in Google Mail, see http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=118708.

To start working with Google Mail labels from the BlackBerry smartphone, complete the following steps:

  1. Locate and launch the Google Mail icon the BlackBerry smartphone. This will be shown on the BlackBerry smartphone Home screen as an envelope icon with a Google Mail email address.

  2. Highlight an email message, display the menu, and click Labels.

To create a Google Mail label from the BlackBerry smartphone, complete the following steps:

  1. Display the menu, and select New.
  2. Type the name of the new label, and press the Enter key.

To delete a Google Mail label from the BlackBerry smartphone, complete the following steps:

  1. Highlight the label to be deleted, display the menu, and select Delete.

To apply a label to an email message on the BlackBerry smartphone, complete the following steps:

  1. Click the check box next to the labels to be applied to the email message.
  2. When complete, display the menu, and select Save.

To remove a label from an email message on the BlackBerry smartphone, complete the following steps:

  1. Click the check box next to the labels to be removed from the email message.
  2. When complete, display the menu, and select Save.
