Work contacts are not displayed in Phone application in the Contacts tab on the BlackBerry 10 smartphone

After enrolling the BlackBerry 10 smartphone to BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10, the work contacts appear within the Contacts application, however the same contacts are not visible within the Contacts tab in the Phone application.

This issue is caused if the Personal Apps Access to Work Contacts IT Policy is set to None.

For this specific IT Policy, the Phone application is considered a Personal application. So, setting this IT policy to None will prevent the Phone application from accessing Work contacts.

This is by design.

CollapseResolution

To allow the Work Contacts to be displayed correctly in the Phone application, perform the following steps:

  1. In the BlackBerry Administration Service, navigate to Manage IT Policies.
  2. Select the IT Policy you would like to modify and select Edit IT Policy.
  3. Under the Security Tab, change the Personal Apps Access to Work Contacts IT Policy to Only RIM Apps.
  4. Select Save All to save the changes made.

When calling contacts from the work space, it will display contact information in the Contacts application, but will only show the phone number in the Phone application.
