Change the BlackBerry Desktop Manager email integration from BlackBerry Enterprise Server to BlackBerry Internet Service

To change the BlackBerry® Desktop Manager configuration from BlackBerry® Enterprise Server to BlackBerry® Internet Service, remove the Desktop [CMIME] and Desktop [CICAL] service books from the BlackBerry smartphone, and modify the BlackBerry Desktop Manager installation.

Remove the Desktop [CMIME] and Desktop [CICAL] service books from the BlackBerry smartphone:

To remove the Desktop [CMIME] and  Desktop [CICAL] service books from the BlackBerry smartphone, complete the following steps:

  1. On the BlackBerry smartphone, go to Options > Service Book.
  2. Select Desktop [CMIME].
  3. Display the menu and select Delete.
  4. Select Desktop [CICAL] if present.
  5. Display the menu and select Delete.

Modify the BlackBerry Desktop Manager installation for BlackBerry Internet Service:

To modify the installation configuration for BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.0 to 5.0.1, complete the following steps:

  1. Close BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
  2. On the computer, go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs, select BlackBerry Desktop Software, and click Change/Remove.
  3. On the Welcome screen, click Next.
  4. Select Modify and click Next.
  5. On the Custom Setup screen, click Next.
  6. In the Email Integration Option window:

    For BlackBerry Desktop Manager version 3.6.1 select BlackBerry Web Client.

    For BlackBerry Desktop Manager version 4.0 to 5.0.1, select BlackBerry Internet Email/Service.

  7. Click Next.
  8. Complete the installation.

BlackBerry Desktop Software 6.0 and later provides a more seamless user experience during install and this allows functionality of both BlackBerry Internet Service and BlackBerry Enterprise Server in the same install.
