Unable to login to the Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 on the BlackBerry smartphone

When a BlackBerry® smartphone user tries to connect with an older version of the Microsoft® Office Communicator client on the BlackBerry smartphone, the BlackBerry smartphone user is denied access.

In the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server instant messaging (BBIM) log files, the following error appears:

<2008-08-14 16:30:06.954 PDT>:[250]:<BBIM_BES_BBIM_2>:<INFO >:<LAYER = BBIM, DEVICEPIN = XXXXXXXX, USERID = ue, User = user@example.com, Login request denied; device client is not compatible with OCS 2007


<2011-08-04 12:27:12.766 EDT>:[12177]:<BBIM_BES_BBIM_4>:<INFO >:<LAYER = BBIM, DEVICEPIN = xxxxxxxx, USERID = ufb5, User = user01@example.com, Login request denied; device client is not compatible with this version of Communications Server>


The version of the Microsoft Office Communicator client installed on the BlackBerry smartphone is incompatible with Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007.


To resolve this issue, download and install the latest version of BlackBerry Client for use with Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 from the following web site:
