'Citrix Receiver for BlackBerry' is unable to open applications on the Citrix Demo cloud

Citrix Receiver for BlackBerry® is an application, available from Citrix®, which facilitates the use of Citrix-published applications on a BlackBerry smartphone. Citrix provide a demo cloud (demo.citrixcloud.net) which can be used to test this application without the need to use your own Citrix environment initially.

When using Citrix Receiver for BlackBerry, a list of published applications is displayed. When opening one of these applications, a message is displayed indicating that the application is opening but it fails to open without any error and returns to the list of published applications.



To be able to successfully open applications published on the demo cloud, port 1494 (Citrix ICA Protocol) must be opened on the corporate firewall to allow communication to demo.citrixcloud.net

If this port is not opened, applications will fail to launch correctly via Citrix Receiver for BlackBerry.
