"The SRP data that you specified is in use by another BlackBerry Enterprise Server" warning appears when SRP authentication information is verified during an install or upgrade

Article ID: KB21313

Type: Support Content

Last Modified: 12-12-2011

Product(s) Affected:

  • BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Novell GroupWise
  • BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Microsoft Exchange
  • BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express for Microsoft Exchange
  • BlackBerry Enterprise Server for IBM Domino
  • BlackBerry® Enterprise Server 5.0 SP2
  • BlackBerry® Enterprise Server Express 5.0 SP2

If SRP authentication information is typed in and Verify is clicked during the installation process for BlackBerry Enterprise Server 5.0 SP2 or BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express 5.0 SP2, a check is made to ensure that no other BlackBerry Enterprise Servers are currently using the same SRP and authentication key combination.

If the check reveals that another BlackBerry Enterprise Server is using the same SRP, a dialogue box appears containing the following text:

SRP Verification

The SRP data that you specified is in use by another BlackBerry® Enterprise Server.  If you continue the installation process with the current SRP data, the BlackBerry Enterprise Server software that you are installing might not function correctly.  Are you sure you want to continue?

When No is clicked, the SRP identifier field is cleared to populate a different SRP.

Note: If the High Availability feature is not chosen for the installation of a standby BlackBerry Enterprise Server, and a server is deployed for a cutover scenario, ignore this prompt by clicking Yes. Proceed with the installation.

CollapseAdditional Information

If Verify is not clicked during this part of the installation process, and another BlackBerry Enterprise Server still has a conflict with the SRP being used, the following error message appears in a new SRP status field within the BlackBerry Administration Service web console:

Disconnected - SRP ID in use by another BlackBerry Enterprise Server
