Unable to place a call using BlackBerry MVS 5.0

When a call is placed from the BlackBerry smartphone using BlackBerry MVS 5.0, the following error message appears:

Cannot connect to <number>

The following prompt then appears:

Mobile number has not been set


The mobile number is not specified in the general settings of the BlackBerry MVS options.

  1. On the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, open the Phone application.
  2. Press the Menu key and click Options > MVS general settings > Mobile number.
  3. Specify the correct mobile number.
