BlackBerry Mobile Voice System has been installed on this Handheld. You acknowledge and agree that Emergency calls dialed while using this Handheld are still only processed through available cellular networks, and Emergency calls will not be processed where cellular coverage is not available.
Additionally, a message is included in the message list on the BlackBerry smartphone with the following subject line: Important BlackBerry MVS message.
The following content appears in the message:
Emergency calls to “911”, “112” or other internationally recognized numbers intended to connect to a public safety answering point or similar emergency services are not processed through the BlackBerry Mobile Voice System (MVS) Software, and will only be processed from your BlackBerry Handheld where cellular coverage is available from an airtime service provider.
The BlackBerry MVS Software is not designed or intended to be a replacement for traditional telephone service. You understand and agree that additional arrangements must be made, separate from the BlackBerry MVS Software, for you to obtain access to traditional fixed or wireless telephone services such as emergency calling capability.
You and your authorized users agree that RIM and its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, and employees shall have no responsibility or liability whatsoever for any personal injury, death or damages arising out of or in connection with the inability to access emergency call services (e.g. 911, 112) through the BlackBerry MVS Software.
By using the BlackBerry MVS Software, you agree with the above. If you are unwilling to agree to the above, please have the BlackBerry MVS Software deleted from your Handheld.
The notification message is designed to appear for information purposes only.
No action is required from the user or the BlackBerry Enterprise Server administrator.
