Microsoft® Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Security Patch MS10-066 and MS10-084 causes the BlackBerry® Enterprise Server User Administration tool to stop functioning. The BlackBerry User Administration service is still running, but communication to the service with the BlackBerry Enterprise Server User Administration tool is disrupted when the RPC patch is installed.
The BlackBerry Enterprise Server User Administration tool commands fail with the following error:
[12:38:58] BESUserAdmin::main - Log Start
[12:38:58] BESUserAdmin::main - Error running client. Please check the:
a. BlackBerry User Administration Service is running
b. Correct network address (or computer name) of where the server is running (i.e. -n <network address>)
c. Correct BES instance to administer (i.e. -b <BES instance>)
A new RPC event is also created in the application log of the Windows® Event Log™:
