Within BlackBerry Desktop Software organizer Tasks show as "not available"

In BlackBerry Desktop Software, after selecting Organizer on the left, Tasks shows the following:

Tasks (not available)

The message appears because the Tasks application is not installed on the BlackBerry smartphone.

Complete the following steps:

  1. Connect the smartphone to the computer.
  2. Open the BlackBerry Desktop Software - if prompted, enter the device password.
  3. Select Applications on the left hand side.
  4. Click on the + icon next to Tasks.
  5. Click on Apply and wait for the installation to complete.
  6. Click Organizer and select the option to Reset Settings.
  7. Click on Configure Settings and reconfigure the synchronization settings. Tasks (not available) will no longer be present following this step.
  8. Restore the data to BlackBerry smartphone. See KB12487.
  9. Perform a synchronization.
