Some cases might require the use of the IEMSTest utility to verify that the BlackBerry Enterprise Server service account has the required permissions to access a BlackBerry smartphone user's mailbox.

To run the IEMSTest.exe application, complete the following steps:

  1. Log in to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server with the BlackBerry Enterprise Server service account (for example, BESAdmin).
  2. Open a command prompt, then type cd C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Utility   or if using a 64-bit Microsoft Windows operating system then type cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Utility
  3. Type IEMSTest.exe and press ENTER.
  4. At the Choose Profile prompt, select the Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) profile that points to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Administrator mailbox (typically BlackBerry Server), then click OK.
  5. At the Select Mailbox prompt, select the mailbox to be verified, click Select, and click OK.

IEMSTest result can be seen as below:
