For BlackBerry 10 smartphones running BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.1:

  3. Security wipe the smartphone and set to reactivate as Work Space Only.
  4. Reactivate and restore the smartphone.

For BlackBerry 10 smartphones running BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.2 with Work Space Only (in which BlackBerry Balance is now shown but runs improperly):

Warning: All settings and application data will be lost when wiping a BlackBerry smartphone. BlackBerry recommends backing up the BlackBerry smartphone using BlackBerry Link prior to wiping.

  1. Backup media on the smartphone using BlackBerry Link.
  2. Security wipe the smartphone and set to reactivate as Work Space Only.
  3. Reactivate and restore the media.

Notes:

  • If users have not upgraded to BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.2, the administrator can set the Wireless Software Updates IT Control to Disallow, then upgrade to BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.2.1 or later (when available) if they do not want to force users to wipe and reactivate.
  • The BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 administrator can remove the affected user from BES10 and reactivate to Work Space Only forcing the smartphone to wipe.
