"Unfortunately BBM has stopped" is displayed while using BBM for Android

After upgrading to BBM for Android on the Lenovo Android device, the BBM app force closes and displays the following message:

Unfortunately BBM has stopped


Update to BBM for Android or later. Visit Google Play or www.BBM.com/Android to update to the latest version of BBM for Android.

  1. Exact error message that is displayed when the force close occurs.
  2. Full steps to reproduce the issue.
  3. Timezone and exact time the force close occurred.
  4. Once a ticket has been created, submit logs as per KB35080.
