"Unfortunately BBM has stopped" is displayed while using BBM for Android

After upgrading to BBM for Android, the BBM application will force close and display:

 Unfortunately BBM has stopped 

This issue is known for Lenovo Android devices.  Note: If this issue is experienced on any other Android smartphone then report this issue here.

Provide the following details to assist with the investigation:

  1. Exact error message that is displayed when the force close occurs.
  2. Full steps to reproduce the issue.
  3. Timezone and exact time the force close occurred.
  4. Once a ticket has been created, submit logs as per KB35080.
This is a previously reported issue that is being investigated by our development team. No resolution time frame is currently available.
